Meet Brian
Over the past 20 years, Brian M. Sergi-Curfman has built an esteemed reputation in the real estate industry. After his first career left him unfulfilled, he joined Howard Hanna Real Estate and Mortgage Services. As a part-time real estate agent, he elected to transition full-time into the position of Realtor® and sold more houses than many of his long-tenured peers.
Within just four years of tremendous education and testing, he would become a real estate broker, able to open his own office, hire a staff, and run his own business. Instead, Brian remained with Howard Hanna for 15 years before pursuing other ventures. After a short time, he returned to Howard Hanna in April 2024, where he renewed his success and felt at home.
Throughout his time in real estate, Brian has conducted over $250 million in sales in a market that has seen its average home sales price rise from $184,000 to $261,000 in 2024. His work has earned more than 30 awards and accolades for his distinguished work. He has earned over 20 educational designations and certifications, each designed to help his clients differently.
Among his many honors, Brian has been recognized by the American Institute of Real Estate Professionals as one of the “10 Best Real Estate Agents in Pennsylvania” for client satisfaction and loyalty, and he has been named one of “America’s Best Real Estate Agents” by RealTrends and the Pittsburgh Business Times.
He is one of only nine agents in Western Pennsylvania to receive the Five Star Award from Pittsburgh Magazine and the Five Star Organization eight times. The Realty Alliance National Sales Excellence Award placed him in the top 1% of real estate agents for sales nationwide, and the American Institute of Real Estate Agents recognized him as one of Pennsylvania’s “Ten Best Real Estate Agents” for client satisfaction.
Brian attributes part of his success to listening to other experts in various fields and understanding and ability to keep up with policy and real estate law changes through the prolific documents created by the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors. He also believes that his bachelor’s and master’s education in psychology, negotiation ethics, and counseling are directly related to his primary vocation and have greatly improved his service to his clients. Brian follows three core tenets in his personal and professional life: integrity, compassion, and experience.
Beyond his career, Brian is a devoted husband and father to two exuberant children. His favorite hobbies are collecting porcelain and carousel horses. Looking ahead, Brian aspires to rise within Howard Hanna's wherever he is needed. He trusts that the many skills he has developed in partnership with his company will be helpful in an elevated role and is eager for the opportunity to prove it.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology, along with a minor in negotiation ethics, from the Mellon College of Science and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Sciences at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1997. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Science in Education focusing on higher education administration and counseling from Indiana University – Bloomington in Bloomington, Indiana in 1999.
